Even as the only Benedictine Catholic University west of the Rockies. Even with a working Abbey. Even with a beautiful campus just minutes from the state capital. Even with all that, Saint Martin’s University was at a crossroads in its mission, its strategic direction, and its recruiting and fundraising communications. Through simultaneous strategic planning and creative explorations, Saint Martin’s was able to wrestle with its modern Catholic identity, and ultimately embrace its Benedictine heritage, finding a new voice and, with it, exciting new relevancy. In so doing, Saint Martin’s enrolled their biggest academic freshmen class ever, and surpassed several key development goals.
